Raul “Ralph” Alvarado Memorial Scholarship
Walden Grove High School’s Class of 2021 established this Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory of Raul “Ralph” Alvarado. Raul was born on February 3, 1967, in Kingman, AZ and grew up in Seligman, AZ. He passed away December 10, 2020. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Raul retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections, where he worked in Winslow and Tucson. He was also employed by the Sahuarita School District for 10 years from 2010 – 2020. He was a Walden Grove campus monitor, a security aide, a big supporter of all athletes and a friend to all. He greeted students with a smile every morning and at all sports events and he kindly offered help to anyone in need. Raul’s big heart touched the lives of so many students, staff, friends, and the Sahuarita Community. He will always be remembered for his big smile, vibrant laughter, and great stories. Each year this scholarship will be awarded to a Walden Grove high school senior to assist with costs in attending the college of their choice. To be considered for the scholarship applicants may be applying to attend any two or four-year public, private, university, community, or trade school. Well-rounded high school seniors who demonstrate random acts of kindness & volunteer service to their community are encouraged to apply.
